Course Delivery:
A course that demonstrates to candidates how to move and transport patients to medical aid. This course covers patient handling and lifting techniques, spine board, clamshell and basket stretcher immobilization, patient assessment and treatment during transport, aircraft transportation, transportation vehicles, and applicable first aid applications.
Recommended for
Loggers, fishermen, Rig workers and others working more than 20 minutes away from medical aid at a site with more than 15 people or a high risk environment.
Content
Review of Primary Survey, Artificial Respiration, Oxygen therapy, Pulse Assessment, Patient Packaging including hard collars, spinal immobilization, lateral and supine packaging and more, Patient Transport.
Prerequisites
Minimum age: 16 years old, plus valid OFA 1, OFA 2 or equivalent certificate
