Course Delivery:

15 Hours

Establishment of a reliable vascular access is a crucial step in patient care. If vascular access is accomplished within the first few minutes of resuscitation, infusion of medications and fluids is possible and a successful resuscitation is more likely. This course is designed to present the knowledge and skills required to initiate intravenous therapy in the pre-hospital setting. The candidates cover human physiology, intravenous therapy equipment and procedures, primary paramedic protocols, and hands-on practice in starting intravenous therapy.

Training for use of IV’s and medication administration. Candidate’s have access to plastic IV arms for practicing.
